Americans are like trees. Africans are like water. We pick a spot and plant our roots firmly in and reach for the sky. They flow as water does, taking the shape of its vessel, its destiny changed, stopped, shaped by its surroundings, by others than its self, by God. Water cannot grow of its own accord. Community (water droplets.) Individuality.
A tree cannot live in water, unless perhaps it is a mangrove. Every day I go out and try to forgive, and it works through many cycles-until I am disappointed again.
The lying-of course, I can criticize, being an outsider-but there is much pollution in us as well.
A tree and water are just two different things.
